Tuesday Tidy!

I wish I was a clean freak - or that I at least had some clean freak tendencies but unfortunately that gene got passed onto my Sister and I got the packrat gene from my Grandma...!   ;)

With three super young kids and a not so big house its amazing how quickly a hotspot or room can go from ok, to a little cluttered to "OMG if my Mom sees this I would be horrified" in no time at all!   That being said I thought it would be a cool idea to start using Tuesdays as a way to kick myself in gear and post a hotspot/clutter zone and make myself accountable to actually cleaning or organizing something to try to make the house more functionalble!   (and let other Moms struggling with crazy households that there are others out there like you!!).   There is a blog out there that would post pictures of "the ideal" and then she would post pictures of what her house actually looks like and I can't remember for the life of me what its called but I love the concept and want to apply it to my blog as well.

I decided to start with the girls room, this would be the lovely AFTER picture - its not a big space and I only have one dresser, under the bed drawers and hanging space in the closet for the girls clothes.  That sounds like a lot of space but OMG do my girls ever have a ton of clothes!  More on that in the purging posts later......

This would be the dreaded BEFORE picture - the one where my husband will visit my blog and I'll get a text saying "you posted pictures of our WHAT?!?!'".  Oh well, I digress....  Its amazing how the girls room doesn't look as bad in pictures as it did in real life (and yes I realize that it looks horrible in the pictures so I threw in Baby C to cuten up the picture for everyone!!).

I managed to put away all the laundry, wash sheets, dust, pack up stuffed animals and vacuum with all three kids 'helping' (which I should get an Olympic medal for BTW!!) so it took a little longer than it could have but the girls were so proud of themselves for getting their room clean.

We are off on a family camping trip for the next little bit but I've got a few more blog posts brewing and hopefully I'll be able to post them before we leave.

I hope you all have a fabulous rest of your Tuesday!

Summer afternoon hangout time

Today is one of those days where everyone seems to be moving at a pretty slow rate. Mr Quiktapotamus and I both were able to get our hair done today (and boy did THAT feel good!!!) and we are the day before a major house clean organization day tomorrow. It's Miss L's third birthday on Saturday and we have about 25 people coming over so I need to get into house cleaning mode!!!

Today however Daddy is teaching Miss S how to play Tiger Woods golf on the PS3 in the cool basement. The two of them are pretty cute and I couldn't help myself and had to take a picture of the daddy/daughter time that was going on!!!!

Hope everyone is enjoying their Thursday wherever you are!!!

Bring on Summer!

Wow - how can it be so long since I've blogged last?!  I promise I think about it all the time its just FINDING the time to post thats next to impossible!

So much has been going on the last few months.  Miss S finished preschool:

Miss S with her Teachers
We have been on 'Summer time' for the last few weeks and that means that the girls are getting up at the crack of DAWN but are going to bed nice and early since they are so tired!

The Girls pretending to sleep at Grandma and Grandpas
Baby C just wont stop growing - although after his checkup today I found out that hes gone from the 75th percentile for height and weight down to the 25th percentile for weight and just over 50th percentile in height.  My little chunky monkey isn't quite as chunky as I thought he was!!

Baby C is getting SO big!!!
We've done pretty good on our park challenge so far especially since we have had so much rain the last few weeks.  We are at 73 more parks to go which isn't too bad in my books.  I've changed our challenge from 150 to 100 especially since we have a bit of camping to throw in there plus we are hitting quite a few of the parks more than once.

I have THREE birthday parties to start planning for -  Miss L turns 3 at the end of July, Baby C turns 1 at the end of August and Miss S is going to be 5 in the middle of September.  Good thing I have two out of three themes for the birthdays all figured out, and I need to get cracking on the third.

Hopefully I can get some sewing done in the next few weeks - I need to give my SIL's quilt to her in the middle of September and I have a TON of piecing still left to do and then I need to get going on the quilt top.  I CANNOT wait until that quilt is done.  Its one of my favourite layer cakes that I've seen.  Once I give it to her I'm dedicating at least one blog post to showing off a ton of pictures of it.....I can't wait for you all to see it.

Thanks again for sticking with me through my absence the last month and half - its nice to be back!
